What happens at usage limits?

Your dashboard shows real-time usage against your tier. We notify you as you approach limits (for example, around 80% of included classroom hours or enrolled students), so you can upgrade before teaching or enrollment is affected. Overage and add-on hour packs may be offered over time; until then, upgrading tiers is the supported path.

For students

How student tuition works

Students subscribe to an academy's published monthly package. ChessBulb may collect those payments through a hosted checkout, then settles amounts owed to the academy under the published refund policy and payout rules.

Student perspective

  • Browse and compare academies in the directory.
  • Pay through a secure hosted checkout when you enroll in a package.
  • Access scheduled lessons in ChessBulb Classroom when your subscription is active.
  • Each successful tuition charge starts a 30-day refund window per the Refund Policy.
  • If a renewal fails, access continues for a short grace period (7 days) before it is suspended until payment succeeds.

Academy perspective

  • ChessBulb can collect and reconcile student subscription payments centrally.
  • ChessBulb does not take a percentage of student tuition. Your remittance is student gross tuition minus payment-processing fees only, under the published rules.
  • Payouts to your designated transfer method (for example, an InstaPay handle) become eligible after each installment's 30-day refund window closes.
  • Separately, you pay ChessBulb a fixed monthly platform subscription by tier—the section above—for software and infrastructure.

Two revenue streams (plain language)

  1. Student tuition flows to academies, net of payment-processing fees, after refunds and the per-installment window are applied.
  2. Platform subscription is the fixed monthly EGP fee academies pay ChessBulb for the product tier you choose.
