Minors Policy
Last updated: April 25, 2026Policy set version: 2026-04-25
Why this policy exists
Many ChessBulb students are under 18. This policy explains how we approach minor accounts, parental or guardian involvement, and classroom safety, with primary reference to Egypt's PDPL and product reality. It is not a U.S.-only COPPA program; if we expand to other jurisdictions, we will layer locale-specific terms as required.
Age and account responsibility
We expect students under the legal age of digital consent in Egypt to use the Service under a parent's or guardian's supervision and, where the product flow requires, with their account creation or consent. The enrolling academy may also collect emergency contacts or guardian details under its own policies; ChessBulb processes what is needed to run enrollment, billing, and lessons as described in the Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy.
Data we process about minors
Depending on the account type, this may include name, contact information, lesson and attendance data, and technical metadata for security. We minimize what we display publicly (for example, student directory and profile features are designed to show only what the academy enables).
ChessBulb Classroom and audio
Live lessons use audio only (no video) in v1, with a shared chessboard. Audio is a realtime stream and, unless we introduce an optional, clearly labeled recording product with appropriate consent, we do not store classroom voice recordings on ChessBulb servers. Academies are expected to run classes appropriate for young learners; abuse or unsafe behavior may be addressed under the Terms of Service and support processes. Terms of Service.
Parent and guardian rights
Where applicable under the PDPL, a parent or guardian may exercise access, correction, deletion, and other data-subject rights on behalf of a child, subject to verification and any academy-side obligations. We will update this policy as features (for example, new classroom modes) or the law require. Check the "Last updated" line at the top; policy version is tracked in Privacy Policy and product flows where you accept terms. Privacy Policy.
